i put 1 of 4 but i doubt i’ll be able to fully capture a fraction [1/4] of the man my uncle harvey was. but as they say, you’ve got to start somewhere.

in other words: let’s fly, amelia

i was recently criticized and specifically told that i am not a writer [yes, receiving that commentary from someone i admired was not a great feeling. i’ve decided to view it as yet, another reminder to my head and heart that words matter.]

avoiding a full bird hole, and instead, channeling my inner michael jordan, i’m using the negativity against my writing as fuel to keep going. so there is zero confusion about my background, here’s an overview one more time:

• as a motivator, i had the idea to set up this blog to showcase the stories behind my purpose and open up about my struggles with finding happiness – hoping to inspire others to share theirs along the way.

• as a designer, i’ve thrived in leadership creative roles with global companies and start-up, non-profit organizations alike. from pixels to paper, i’ve done it all and loved most of it.

• as an artist, i’ve been drawing my whole life. i graduated from the university of wisconsin-madison with a fine arts degree and hosted my first one-woman show my sophomore year of college and was thrilled to sell three pieces … and then never did it again. [please note, this is called foreshadowing in the world of storytelling.]

• as a writer, i’m just getting started and having a blast [!]

all that being said, i still fully believe a picture is worth a thousand words.
